How would you tow a dirt bike with a car?? Is it possible?? Is there anywhere where you can rent something?
Here's the story- my boyfriend had to help his dad move to Washington (state) now he's coming back to Arizona and he's bringing his dirt bike with him. Problem is he doesn't have a truck. I believe it's a '01 Neon. Anyways- and idea's will help. Thanks!

If he can install a hitch receiver on his neon (go to U-haul or buy one at any trailer parts store, or even Wal-Mart) there is such a thing as a bike hauler. It is a piece that slides into a receiver hitch and is a rail that the bike tires sit on. Some models even tilt for getting the bikes on and off. I have seen these used on Craig's List and Ebay from $100 to $300. Hope this helps.

Simple answer, NO dirt bikes are tough as nails. This assumes he did proper maintenance and the bike didn't get dumped into a lake. Even if it did you just take out the spark plug , pump it and then ride on. Water in a finicky street bike would kill it but not really so for a dirt bike. If it was really damaged you would know it the second you start it up. If you damaged it in any way it would run VERY badly and you would feel it if it even started up. Rust in the engine? NO WAY. Running it would remove all water in a matter of seconds. Rust is an issue but only on the outside of your bike.

They make motorcycle trailers. The front wheel sits in a slot and the back wheel rolls along the ground. You might also be able to rent one of these from Uhaul.

I don't know how open you are to this, but here goes. When I was younger I would just put down the back seat and lay the bike in through the trunk. The bike would stick out of the trunk but I didn't really care that much.

You can't tow anything with a Dodge Neon. Rent a truck to haul the bike and tow the car on a car dolly.

A U-Haul motorcycle trailer is $14.95 a day. But you won't be able to pull it with a Neon. Try guardrail jim's suggestion. The ones I saw were basically a cradle for the front wheel. The rear rides along the road.

Rent a U-Haul trailer, and they will help with the hitch purchase/installation. The small eight footer will haul a dirt bike.

sell the neon, buy a truck?

ship the bike with Forward Air, or one of the other MC shipping companies it's only about $300 and cheaper than installing hitches, renting, etc. etc

Search the web for "motorcycle bumper racks"
They clamp to the bumper of your car or SUV.
I've used them before I had a trailer.
