Anyone attempting to repair their own bike should own a shop manual. Why trust answers you get from strangers on message boards when you can have the answer to every question right in front of you. Would you rather spend $30 for a priceless investment, or spend over $500 when you make a mistake?

I don't know the exact #s for your bike, but CBR929s get torqued about 85ft lbs.
That's a lot of torque to be messing around with.
To little and the clutch nut could come off. Let the clutch flop around and chip the clutch and primary gears. Which would further wreck the motor by getting stuff in the oil pump. Well...you get the idea.
To much and you can strip the threads on the main shaft of the transmission. Then you're talking major $ to remove the engine, split the cases and replace the transmission.
"When in doubt, check it out."
Purchase a shop manual.
