Most bikes that I look up have close to 11:1 compression ratios, yet they can still use 87RON petrol. My car has 10:1 and the manufacturer recommends 91 at least, 96 at most.
Why can bikes have that high CR and still be comfortable with regular fuel, while car engines will knock?

I have a 1985 honda 250 es big red with a oil leak at the cam caps . They look like they unscrew from the outside so you could maybe replace some sort of o-ring behind them. They are located on top of the engine on the end of the cams. Does anyone know how to repair these leaks ,Thanks

Just wondering if it is smoother and better. I know this is the first bike in its class to have it. I think it is a great idea, super smooth and better response. I am sure, the other 3 Japaness companys will follow. I want to get this in th Kawasaki, and I know Suzuki and Honda will follow.

For the past 18 months I've been building a custom Harley (with sidecar) peice by peice in the back bedroom of my brother's doublewide. Went to take her out for the first time and even taking off the handlebars, the damn thing wont fit through the door. Anyone know how hard it is to take a couple wall panels off a mobile home?

My wife and son visited a Harley dealer the other day that didn't have any in stock. The dealer said that they were a piece of crap and didn't recommend them. Could it be that he just wanted to try to sell them a more expensive bike? Or is the dealer being honest?

I'm talking about the big scooter and not the DUI cycles that go around 35 mph. I like the idea of the automatic transmission but my son says that scooters don't maneuver as well as motorcycles. I would just like some more opinions.

1982 kawasaki 440

The motor has 20 thousand miles on 'er and runs after I finally get it to start after it has sat for a while. I dumped in some fresh 87 octane mixed with about half a bottle of seafoam and the motor is running really rough and idling poorly... I'm sure part of this is the Seafoam, but I also don't know what octane of fuel to run.

From what I've seen online, I've seen numbers range from regular 87 octane to 93 octane.

So what octane should I use? I've only got about a gallon in the tank, so mixing in another couple of gallons ought to help mix in the Seafoam and 87 octane fuel.
