About 3 weeks ago i asked the question of- i traded a 1979 Honda CT70 that was in really good condition, for a 1977 Yamaha Enduro 250 that does not run.Is this an even trade, it will soon run and needed several minor fixes (points, condensor etc....) what do you think?- The bike now runs like its brand new and i was just wondering if any of you who told me i got screwed over and all i've got now is a boat anchor, would like to retract their former statement????

I have a TRX300 4x4 by Honda and it's really not a jimping quad. I guess this would be because of the front drive shaft components and ect. But my question, how much more does the front end of my 4x4 weigh than a regular 2 wheel drive quad?

I bought a used Shadow last year, my first motorcycle. A combination of being away and lazy has led to it sitting for a long time and now it won't start. I know I need a new battery. What else should I do?

I'm going to attempt to trade in my bike (listed above). This will be the first time I've tried to trade in a vehicle. The bike occasionally has starting issues, but will never repeat the problem for my mechanic to fix it (part of why I don't want to sell it on my own). I've been browsing around on e-bay and local adds to get a feel for what my bike is worth and they seem to be selling in the $1000-$1500 range. So my two questions would be
a) What kind of price will I most likely be looking at for a trade in?
b) What kind of haggling space to they usually leave when they give you a price?

... help, I've got a full driving licence, I took and passed my test on a motorbike in 2000 but... after taking my CBT and a direct access course to pass it & ride any bike I wanted... I didnt send off my pass certificate to the DVLA to update it ? and remember at the time something about 2 years ! not sure what that was though. I rode a 600cc bike for approx 12 months, just affording the insurance but the second year's insurance was to expensive & I haven't rode since...

What do i need to do to get back on two wheels ? or what can i ride legally now ?

thanks

Hi Guys

I've got a Suzuki Bandit that has recently stopped starting from the starter motor, i can bump start it and it then runs fine until I need to start it again. The starter turns but not very quickly (am able to do this in gear so I guess Bandits have a throwout starter clutch or something similar).

I've changed the battery, can hear the solenoid clicking sound that appears fine and have tried another starter motor which makes no difference (although it was a second hand motor so might have had the same fault). Has anyone had a similar problem? Bad earth maybe (if so where do you start)?

Cheers

I say, what an absolutely tip top machine the Harley Davidson is. By jove, those Americans really know how to be build motorcycles don't they. I had a spiffing afternoon riding through the estate on my Porsche V-ROD, golly, what fun it was! All my pals have them.Wiffy likes to ride his out on a sunday afternoon and watch all the jealous proletariat drooling over his iron horse. Soggy sometimes comes out with me for a ride, an afternoon spent putt-putting through the Downs is absolutely top hole.Soggy and i have got all the gear your know, oh yes, my butler says we look "really mean" when we're all togged up in our H-D gear. Anyway,TTFN, i must go and kill a few foxes (on the QT of course), toodle pip, what! Lord Halfwit
PS-Chill out!!..surely the Harley dealership doesn't take your sense of humour as well as your life savings? :-)

I've got an '06 Harley Davidson Sportster with about 13500 miles on it, and the tires are already starting to look a little worn. Is this normal? How long are HD's stock Dunlops supposed to last?

Due to a death in the family, I have come into ownership of a 1978 Harley Lowrider (I think?) ... Well, I'm not too big into riding or showing bikes, but being's it was my dad's I'm gonna keep it around in the family. I was just wondering the best way to store a bike to where in say 10 years of sitting it will come out as close to looking as it does now (environment, cosmetic care / how often?, etc) Any help would be appreciated.

i just bought my first bike...a 1997 suzuki intruder 800. went to see it at the guy's house, he bought it from a dealer a year prior, and put only 250 miles on it while he owned it(1 year). it had a tune up/oil change when he bought it. it has sat all winter in his garage, he put on a trickle charge the night before i came up to buy it. it started right up, ran a little rough until it warmed up(it was 50 degrees outside/30 in the morning). once warmed, it ran like a champ. i pulle dit home on a trailer in the rain for 50 miles. got it home and it started up, i tried to ride it down the street before it was warmed up and it bogged out on me, then i think i killed the charge. put it on a trickle over night with fresh gas. this morning i can't get it to start! i am doing everything right. it just turns but doesn't try to start, if you know what i mean? help! i thought i smelled a bit of gas, also, after trying to start it a few times.

I recently purchased a 1982 Honda CB650SC (Nighthawk). It's a wet-clutch, so as I understand it the engine oil also works as lubrication for the transmission as well. This being an older bike, I figure some sludge and carbon has built up in the engine because most people dont perform maintenance like they should. I was going to add Marvel Mystery Oil to the engine oil once or twice to clean it out and then just go with full synthetic all the way. Sorry, but I am not interesting in opinions as to weither or not MMO will do anything at all. I am just wondering if a small amount of MMO (0.3 quarts MMO to 3 quarts of oil) will be safe in a wet-clutch motorcyle?
