Motorcyclist Magazine did a write up of both bikes head to head, they did confirm that although the Kawasaki makes more power and is indeed faster, in real world situations it is not enough of a difference. In the end they concluded that the Kawasaki was the better of the two bikes but not by much, it comes down to what YOU like.

Either one has more than enough power to kill you unless you are a professional rider on a track. Remember that simply hitting a flattened can or turtle at speed is enough to wipe you out. Check out some of the online photos of people who have crashed sports bikes while riding them on the street; They have to pick up the pieces, literally.
Do not take this as my telling you not to get such a bike, just that either one will work for you. I would look at styling, and consider which one fits you better when buying.
