So, last week i got 2 new tires for my car, and had a "wobble" every so often. then i had my radiator flushed, and a new thermostat put in. Now i have a really bad squeal coming from one of my belts, and my car won't shift very well when it's warmed up.. any ideas?

Thanks.

had a/c compressor and fan clutch changed. fan clutch stayed on , robbed my power, belt squeals when i step on the gas too hard. had guy replace it and it still stays on all the time. he says it is fine and that the belt squealing has nothing to do with what he did, even though it never squealed before. never had heating problems even when the fan clutch didn't work. should i try another clutch manufacturer, an electric one, a flex fan?

It goes up and down but not left or right. I have had the hand control replaced with no effect and have replaced the coils. What else can I do?

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a remote starter that I would like to remove because I believe that it is causing some electrical problems. How can this be done?

OR...could I just disconnect the power to it or something? Would that hurt the engine or electical system at all?

I bought this car from a local dealer shop about 10 months ago..it went really well. After maybe 3 or 4 months, I noticed the light for "low coolant" that came on on certain times, i thought it was something that pertains to a/c,i took it to les schwab, and they told me that it has nothing to do with the a/c, in fact the a/c dont work..so anyways, I had taken this car at least 5 times already to get it serviced whenever "low oil" appeared..then a couple of weeks ago, when I was on my work, I sensed something really horrible, like burned rubber, it didn't show until one day i came to a red light and all i could see was smoke coming out of the hood..i pulled over to see what it was, it was the smoke coming thru and out of the engine..not to mention really cold nights driving home after school/work, and had the heater on, it blew out nothing but smoke..what could be the main problem? Would appreciate any suggestions and reccomendations..

Engine check done on '01 Nissan Sentra
List of items that came up:
-oxygen sensor
-cadalytic converter
(both of which might be causing the rough start on my car)
-transmission component slipping
-tort converter-->one component slipping in transmission
-rear main seal leak in the engine
-burnt fluid from transmission
-contamination in the pan...which leads them to believe there definately is an internal transmission problem b/c: fluid is burnt

On a student's budget, are there some corners I can cut to get my car in enough shape to pass inspection this month?

I'm looking into getting this cheap Ford Contour, but the ad says that the transmission slips in first gear. I feel stupid asking this, but what does that mean?

it's a '63 Ford Falcon and on rainy morning when i first start it and drive away it starts to sputter and the gas pedal will be on the floor and i'm barely moving. after about 15 min. it's back to normal but it's dangerous and I'm trying to figure it out.

on dry days it's fine.

Hello. i have a 1998 subaru outback. i replaced my radiator hoses, thermostat and flushed the system. I can drive the car around town without any problem, but if i am driving it on the highway for about 15 to 20 minutes. when i pull off and slow down i see my temp gauge rising. when riding around town, my car warms up to its regular temp and rides fine, but when you hit higher speeds for a longer period of time, thats when it decides to heat up...

i replaced radiator hoses due to a leak, and i filled it with coolant and let it run to prevent air pockets. since i was down there, i replaced the thermostat.

compression leak? head gasket? cracked head? cracked block? anyone know??????

I am about to take my car out of town and my coolant level is low. I was just going to top it off but wasn't sure about mixing new coolant with old coolant. I know what type I should use, but wasn't sure about mixing. Any help is appreciated and if you have a link to an outside reference, even better. Happy Holidays.

It started happening in October - its the little fuse that is responsible for the taillights and the dashboard lights - that's it. It seems like every 4-5 weeks the fuse will blow. Its one of those mini, size 15 fuses that looks like a tooth.

Anyone know what might be causing this to burn out?

(FYI - the car is in great shape, 60k miles, no water leaking inside anywhere...)

Starts great, idles, accelerates great. When you get to 45-50, it starts losing power and shakes like it's going to shake right off the mounts. Will now do about 30, floored in third gear. Pull over, it settles back to a good idle, all over
again,...accelerates up to 45 and then starts losing power.....

Changed coils, wires, pluge, carb, catalytic converter, distributor. Went to points, wired coil directly to the battery. No diff. Checked fuel pressure and volume.
Dodge slant 6 , manual trans van, '84. Doesn't smoke, was good workhorse. I know what fuel starvation is like. It doesn't shake violently. Same with spark interuption. This engine SHAKES bad when it starts losing power. It's got everybody stumpt.

I'm not a real gadget/sport tuner pro, so between the superchips and the diablo sport predator chip, which one is the easiest to program? My second question is the superchip gives you the option of using either 87 or 91 octant, if you use the 91 option, can you use 93 octane gas?

I parked in a garage and discover that some substance had leaked onto my hood. My car is black so the area where the leak occurred is very dull.

i want to make the gas for 2 cycle engine and use 87 so i can share with mower Do i need to buy octane booster? The only reason to use higher octane would be for higher RPM motors, like trimmers, weed eaters. i need to use higher octane than 87 because THE MANUAL SAYS TO USE HIGHER OCTANE GAS TO REDUCE THE BUILD UP OF CARBON IN THE 2 CYCLE ENGINE
