I parked in a garage and discover that some substance had leaked onto my hood. My car is black so the area where the leak occurred is very dull.

calcium dissolves in vinegar..and some mild acids..
then clean it using turtle wax or armor all

Use Limeaway or CLR on the spots which are drippings of dissolved concrete mortar (lime) from the parking structure. Do a small section at a time....Spray the Limeaway on the spot, let it sit for several minutes and wipe it off......repeat as necessary and rewax the area when done.

First try a "polishing compound" you buy at the auto parts store. It usually comes in a round cylindrical tin like the old car paste wax came in. Follow the directions on the product. Also view the online Advance auto videos on the related subjects
