I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has a remote starter that I would like to remove because I believe that it is causing some electrical problems. How can this be done?

OR...could I just disconnect the power to it or something? Would that hurt the engine or electical system at all?

I did not install it myself.

I remove them regularly all you do is find the module under the dash on the drivers side and follow each wire to the connection to the vehicle, most are in the ignition harness on the steering column and remove it from its connection point. If you find some that have been cut just match up the wire colors and reconnect the original wiring. It usually takes about 20 minutes.

if you installed it, it's as simple as clipping all the wires you added to install it...

you can unplug it, but usually they draw their power from multiple places..
