My son drives a 1999 C230 Kompressor. He wants to put after market 17" rims on the car. We are told putting other than Mercedes rims on the car at the same size a manufacturer suggests is asking for trouble. Could someone explain what problems using after market rims would cause?

The head lights on my 98 dodge ram 1500 have a problem. Only one headlight works on low beams. they both work on high beams, but sometimes go off and then come back on shortly after. I've tried new bulbs, but I still have the problem. It used to blow fuses on low beams until I found and tightened the ground. They both worked just fine for about 3 weeks and then they started this. I've looked at all the fuses and not one of them are blown. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Ok.

I have a 1999 Chrysler Town & Country LX Minivan.

We've had it for a few years with lil problem.

BUT

Last summer something went wrong.

You put it in drive and you go, it doesnt shift outta low gear.

You can still drive it and everything works ok (lights, radio, brakes, etc)

And you can still go in reverse.

It's STILL in the garage. They've been working on it since July.

They've checked everything. They've sent it out to tons of other places. But they can't seem to figure out whats wrong with it.

Whats wrong with it? How do I fix it?

PLEASE HELP!

Thanks!

itis a lot simpler than it looks....piston comes down after ignition and drives hydraulic fluid into drive gear (welded to driveshaft) then on to drive the piston in 2nd cylinder up..volume of cylinder verses volume drivegear...driveshaft makes 8 revs per powerstroke..current engines take 2 powerstrokes for 1 (one) rev. of driveshaft.....simpler and more efficient.....

I need help figuring out what spray gun I should get to go with this compressor...
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=90385
I would prefer a HVLP gun, but not sure what is compatible. What else would I need other than hoses? Any car-painting tips would be nice to be included as well.

It's very cold where I live.. I started my car to move it out of the way for my partner's car to be able to move... when I got back into my car to move it back it wouldn't start. It does not click when you turn the key all the way... the battery seems to be working well... (my lights and radio work) I am clueless to what happened. *(note) my car is a 1994 olds 88 modle with fuel injection (incas that helps). Thanks in advance for your answers!

I have a 2000 chevy cavalier that has a paint job that is in good condition. But the the trim off of the driver side door fell off. How do I remove the the remaining adhesive strips that are left on the door without ruining my paint job? I tried peeling them off and it doesn't seem to work too well.

When we tried to start it, it hesitated and sputtered before starting. While it ran it continued to sputter and seemed like it would stall out. When it was put into drive it lurched forward and reved up.
This is a '99 Ford Windstar minivan, automatic. We've never had a problem with it until this. It drove perfectly fine just the day before.
What could it be?

If the switch is on high, the heater blower works great. Unfortunately, the blower does not operate on the other speed settings. Is it the switch, resistor or the blower that is failing? Does anyone else have experience with this problem? I have a good idea where the blower motor is located, but I have no idea where the resistor is located. Any information is appreciated.

Car Details:
Mitsubishi Galant 98 ES
111000 Miles

Problem:
Since last 1 year, my alternator belt came off thrice and my car must have run 5000 miles in that period. I guess the problem become more chronic when the period between the last 2 times when the belt broke/came off was just 1 month and I hardly drove 200 miles.

Symptoms:
Just before the belt use to break, I use to get a squealing noise from my car whenever I use to push the accelartor. Sometimes I use to continue with that noise and then the belt use to break.

I took my car to the same mechanic and this time I asked why this keeps happening. After a while he called me up and said you will have to replace the Water pump belt and that is freezing up (or something like that) and he said that he "thinks" that might be the cause why the belt is breaking and he said that the cost of doing it would be $750 (parts + labor). My mechanic also said that the consequences could be really bad if I don't replace the Water Pump and he almost forced me to get it replaced over the phone. But I resisted. I got a feeling that may be that is not what the real problem is as I don't trust that shop much. I generally get my Oil change from there and that's it.

Now, before spending a huge amount (remember I am a student), I would like to get a second opinion from experts like you. Do you think the problem could be with the pulley tensioner rather than Water Pump Belt? I really do not have much knowledge about the belt stuff.

Please advice me in this matter and please let me know what steps I should take further.

Thanks
