First question. When raw fuel gets into your oil, it dilutes the oil and reduces the oils ability to lubricate the engine. If it's bad enough long enough, it could ruin the engine.
Second question. Yes , the condition can be caused by the carburetor. Items include the choke not opening, the float inside the carb is "sinking", a stuck "needle and seat". Also, as stated above, a severe misfire in the engine could allow excess fuel to collect in the cylinder and work it's way past the piston rings and into the crankcase. A third possibility is a small rupture in the fuel pumps' diaphragm. This can pump raw fuel directly into the crankcase. Bottom line, the carburetor needs to be checked thoroughly, and the engine checked for proper performance, if those check OK, suspect the fuel pump itself. (Note, the fuel pump theory does not apply to electric fuel pumps or fuel injected engines!). HTH, Good Luck!!

More then likely you have a blown head gasket if you smell gas in your oil. Costs about $600 to have a garage fix this.

Does the oil seem to have bubbles in the oil too and does it look lighter then you would expect..that may be water too. Another sign of a blown head gasket.

Check the water level in your radiator and if it's low fill it..if it's low in a few days again the water is probably leaking through the blown head gasket as well and mixing with the oil. A little gas in the oil isn't a big deal but water is so check it out and if it's an older car get rid of it before it gets worse.

properly replacing your gas filter out will do you no strong because that's earlier the carburetor notwithstanding the jets will fill with dirt and the flow is made with a particular coating which may also get saturated with dirt and make it run wealthy. you want to tug the carburetor off and performance it wiped clean and probable rebuilt. If that's nonetheless operating halfway ok odds are you probably did not do engine damage.

first thing the carb is parable your problem most likely the needle and set in the carb is letting to much gas in and letting raw gas go in the oil get a new needle and seat and get a set of new floats to you can get a carb rebuild kit but most do not come with floats. win gas get in your oil it will wash your bearing and their will not be proper lubrication to them some time if you get a lot of gad in your oil it will wash down your calender and you will lose compression a norther thing is to check the fuel pump most have weep hole that will put gas on the out side if they go bad but have seen some leak internally. hope this helps

Usually when fuel gets into the oil pan, it from gas that's not being combusted..either you have a spark plug not firing or either the carburator is letting too much gas flow into the cylinder that can not be burned.. or if when the vehicle is shutoff. the carburator is leaking into the cylinders and passing the rings and getting into the oil pan...Do you have any backfire when running...if so then your carburator needs adjusting..check your plugs, do they smell like gas... you might just need to change the plugs if worn..then again.. i need to know exactly what is happening...
