1992 Chevrolet Van. 5.7L V8 (Throttle Body Injection)
New fuel pump, new filter screen, new fuel fliter.
Rebuilt fuel regulator (Replaced diaphram).
New plugs, new wires, new distributor cap and rotor.
New coil wire, using original coil.
Checked EGR valve. Seems OK.
Vaccuum appears fine (Replaced bad looking hoses, but they were not leaking.)
MAPP appears to be working OK.
Bad MAF sensor would make engine light go on, right?
*Is there a relay for the fuel pump?
*Check engine light doesn't come on when engine is running.
So maybe Idle air control valve or throttle position control is bad?
*Injectors seem to stop at same time, so engine stops getting gas.
Other notes:
Engine is hard to start. Dies infrequently. (Dies after a few seconds - 5+ minutes) Pumping the gas rapidly while starting helps get get engine going. Drove it on highway and works great.
