you 1st need to determine if you are getting power to the rear defroster. Check the fuses 1st. If the fuse is good, then look to see if you have any breaks in the grids of the rear defroster. If you see a clean break in the grids, then you need to go to any auto parts store that sells rear defroster repair kits. Follow the instructions and do the simple repair yourself. The repair kit has a tiny brush with a metallic liquid to use to repair your grids.
good luck...........

Providing you have power to the switch......
They make a repair kit that has instructions to do this. You can purchase it at NAPA.

Get an automotive test light. Hook it up to a good ground. Test it on something powered to make sure you do have a good ground. Touch the defrost lines with the defrost on. Where it lights up has power! Drag the test light down each on of those defrost lines till you see the light go out. Once you've found a spot where the light is on an then goes off an inch later you've found the spot that needs to be repaired. Take some masking tape and mask off each side of that defroster line. Then apply the repair fluid

depends on what part of the defroster is defective

if the electrical connection is bad then you can easily fix this by checking to see where you get continuity

if the defroster on the glass is scratched then the whole rear window needs to be replaced
