Mobile 1 synthetic that is supposed to last for 10,000 miles runs about $23 for a 5 quart jug at Wal-mart.
There is an extended life Mobile 1 that is supposed to be good to 15,000 for $28 for a 5 quart jug.
I don't think I would run a car for 35,000 miles between oil changes. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

There is nothing on the market that can truly protect the engine over about 10,000 miles with the exception of Mobil 1 extended performance with the extended performance filter. 1 fact that Amsoil does not address is the acids that build up in the crankcase over time the only way to remove them is to drain the oil. Any filter that would filter those acids would not allow oil to pass. Is it really in BMWs best interest or any other manufacturer for your car to last 200,000 miles, I think not. They all advertise tremendous drain intervals as a sales pitch and hope the car lasts past the warranty. Then it is up to the owner or the folks they bought the extended warranty from to replace a cooked engine
Food for thought when you eat do eat what is best for you or do you eat what will hold you over the longest so you do not have to eat again for 3 days
Next to your house usually your car is your most expensive possession, treat it that way. Maintenance is cheap insurance. My best friend actually listened to me and took proper care of a 91 Chevy pick up with a V6. When he sold it, it had 450,000 miles on it and he got $1500 for it. There had been no major repairs needed
I personally use Mobil 1 5w20 and a slandered filter every 5,000 miles. I plan on driving my truck for 10-15 years

I dont really have an answer to give I just want to know from the Amsoil advocate. I read the link you posted. But my question is what about a new car that is under warranty. Amsoil claims 35k miles and 17k miles. But I have a new car and for the warranty I have to change it at 5k or 7k miles. So how can Amsoil make such a claim without talking about new car warranties. Jusy wondering. Not bashing the oil but just want to know if I wanted to use it and followed the intervals put out by them I think I would void my warranty.

would not have made a distinction in any respect , till somebody switched the hot oil for used perhaps oil . I observed this ensue as quickly as whilst a pal offered oil at walmart . till now he offered it he observed the cap became into unfastened and regarded interior and observed that it became into previous grimy oil . ethical , continually verify to work out if the acceptable is sealed . in any different case , as long with the aid of fact the oil has the wonderful SAE codes on your motor vehicle and you used the wonderful quantity and viscosity , no distinction in overall performance !

Synthetic oil. Actually you don't have to change oil in new BMWs until after 18,000 miles. Pretty impressive!?
