I'm driving down the highway, crusing along at 65 mph. Then my airbag light goes on and the speedometer and rpm meter both drop to 0.

Everything else is still on, the odometer, the radio, the heat etc and I can still brake/accelerate.

This happens randomly, no bumps in the road, no turns...

What's going on?

Hello, I am driving a 99 ford ranger manual 4-cyl. Recently, it has been having a tough time staying running. It seems to turn over fine, but i have to give it extra gas for a while, or the whole thing dies. as long as i give it a little gas, especially during idle times, it seems to drive fine. a peculiar thing is that after ive been driving it for a while, (10 minutes at least), it no longer requires me to gas it during idling, however it seems to have this sort of rumbling cycle where it will almost quit, and i notice the voltmeter dips as well. I have taken it into a few places, and i get no clear answer. the battery is new. someone suggested that it might be the alternator, another place said it couldnt be the alternator. I am afraid that if i cant figure it out soon, it will get worse, and ill end up having to take it into a place and spending way too much. at any rate, if anyone has any ideas, i would be very appreciative.

thanks,

Mark

My wifes ford f-10 was making a clattering noise...I took it to 3 different places....and got 3 different answers.
I said screw it I'll take a lookk and it turned out to be a loose brake caliper bolt.
And here are these suppossed trustworthy places lying to me.....Firestone, Midas, and the Ford dealer.

When the car is warm, in gear, and with foot on brake, there is a slight clanging noise under the hood and the car shudders a bit.

Three mechanic shops later (including the GM dealer) and no one has a clue whats up. New spark plugs and new wires have been tried. They thought it was the flywheel and pulled the tranny. Flywheel is fine. Thought it was the torque converter so changed that. Nothing seems to work.

The car is a 1997 Sunfire and the mechanics are at a loss.

HELP! I've spent over $3000 trying to fix an acceleration problem on my 99 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. New Distributor Cap and Rotor, new computer, new Catalytic Converter, wires and plugs, new O2 sensor, timing belt replaced and adjusted, and still no solution. Chrysler mechanic believes it's an issue with the vacuum in the engine and the issue is an internal engine problem, so they want to start taking apart the engine, but I'm afraid to spend more money and still not have a solution. Car really drags when accelerating. When hooked up to computer, fuel injector indicator (I think) registers 54 and then jumps to 276 and then back to 54-- nothing in between. Can anyone at all help me out? I fear getting hosed because I don't know a lot about cars.

There is a pine tree in front of my apt. parking space which contsantly drops sap on the windows and car surace. Alcohol will remove it off the windows with a great deal of scrubing, but I don't know what to do with the rest of the car since it is a 2005 and I want to keep it looking good.
