Does that include a new timing belt? All new hoses?
I'd love to see what that includes before we know what the price should be. My hunch is that he's doing everything that Daimler says should happen at your mileage, and you're gonna pay for OEM parts.

Sometimes I do get slightly perturbed if they are just trying to boss me around because they have inferiority complex .Some people are very critical of others but not themselves. Some people are judgmental and they are wrong but they tell others what to do when they don't even know what is going on and what you have already tried. Like with my son . He has an eating disorder so I was blamed by teachers that I have not made him eat foods that gag him . These people will not listen to reason because they are superior in their attitude. I listened to what people told me to do before and it cost me lots of money. If someone tells me what to do and it is helpful then I listen. I actually like to be told what to do in that case. Some people are very busy telling others what to do but they themselves are out of control in many ways and need to be told what to do themselves.

You did not say how many miles... You can usually go 100,000 on spark plugs these days. If it is running fine, just keep your filters changed .. change oil and filter 3000-5000... fuel filter every 25,000..flush your auto transmission every 30,000 or so and flush your cooling system and install a new thermostat every 5 years or so. Check your tires and air pressure often, and you should do fine... and don't forget to check the brakes every 20,000 or so...

A major tuneup can include removing fuel injectors and cleaning them. That can run 500. Without that, it's just replacing plugs and wires and hoses and stuff. Timing doesn't drift off like it did in the points days.

$500.00 !!!!!! That's crazy,no way it should cost over $150.00 for a tune up and inspecting overall mechanical condition. You better get a few more quotes.
