It is the Drivers side flip forward seat that allows access to the back seat for passengers in the extended cab. I need to replace the whole seat, since the bolts have broken that hold it up.

4-Car is very good on gas on highway for its size/weight, but *very crappy* in congested city driving (Boston).

5-It is strong running and smooth idling. When I first acquired it, over the noise of other motorists I thought it stalled on me in traffic, except it was still running - that's how smooth it is. And that was before its first tune-up.

Is there any correlation here? For the life of me, I can't explain the disparity in fuel economy nor the intermittent o2 sensor warnings. The repair garage that overcharged me for the exhaust work wanted to replace ALL FOUR O2 sensors as a remedy for the OBD-II warnings. Before I do that, I wonder if I can kill two birds with one stone by taking a more logical course of action.

I wonder if exhaust is being leaked somewhere forward of the converter. If so, could it explain the audible observation I mentioned in addition to poor mileage/specific OBD-II codes?

I know that there are alot of variables. Sorry for that and thanks for suggestions.

Vehicle: 1998 Mercury Mountaineer AWD 5.0L 8cyl, 116,000 mi. In my possession only for a few months. Previous owner cannot be reached (overseas).

1-For about the first 5 minutes, exhaust condensation is visible in the evening air when other cars' exhaust is invisible in ambient air (~55 F). Exhaust is pale white in color, almost like steam. There is water discharged from the tail pipe the moment the car is started.

2-OBD-II P0133 [O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 1)] & P0430 [Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)] intermittently. Most of the time I get one or the other, but not both. Usually I only get these under moderate throttle load while going uphill.

note: I thought it was due to a hole in the exhaust line so I had the pipe, muffler, and resonator replaced.

3-Under hard acceleration, I can "hear" the motor as if there is sound being leaked somewhere. This sound is separate and distinguishable from the motor signature from the motor compartment.

I took my car in for an oil change and I noticed something on my receipt under "recommended repairs" section afterwards. It was something about "Misc. Oil Leak Degrease." The people working there didn't say a thing about it to me.

We took my husband's car (1996 Ford Taurus) to the shop to have the spark plugs and belt changed. There was also an oil leak in the engine that the mechanics were supposed to look at. We already had the plugs and the belt for the car, since we'd intended to change them ourselves but haven't had the time to do it recently.

The mechanic called my mom about the car today and told her that we'd need to take the car to have the engine steam cleaned because there was so much oil on it and they couldn't tell where the leak was. They also told her that they had changed the spark plugs, although they had to purchase new ones (at $6 each)because the ones we had brought in "were the wrong size."

I waited half an hour for them to call me after that, then gave up and called them. At first they said the car was "ready," then confirmed that I would have to take it to a car wash, have it cleaned, and bring it back. They never said anything about the spark plugs directly to me.

I have a 2005 camry that I will keep for 3-4 years or until 100,000 miles before I trade-in. I was hit by another driver and had $600 worth of damage. The estimate is for the replacement of a bumper (as good as new). Is it better to pocket the money and repaint the bumper (there are a few deep scrathes and a small depression).

I have a 2001 Dodge Neon. I noticed the other day that the low beam was out on the right side. So I bought a new bulb and had a friend install it. The low beam STILL doesn't work. What should we check next?

The dent is on the driver side of a 2006 Honda Civic EX over the rear tire. Should I report this to my insurance company then get it fixed or just take it stright to a body shop? Looks like it was slightly dented in with a shopping cart while i was at the store, not to bad but noticeable with the smoothness of that part of the car's body frame. Which was is cheaper or better for me as a owner, car was purchased in July brand new off the lot of this year.
