It depends. Did you drain the torque converter? The transmission will take around 4 qts and the torque converter will take around 4 qts. I would not recommend putting 10 to 12 qts in unless you are absolutely sure you drained the torque converter. Even then, I would put in 8 and run it for a while and recheck. Good luck.

generally about 9 quarts...maybe 10 if it's rebuilt.
