everytime i go to take off it jerks and my tires squeal a lil bit, and whenever im at a redlight or a stop sign my car feels like its gonna die, but it don't, what do you think is wrong with it and how much do u think it will cost to get it fixed??

'92 mercury grand marquis.....two rear rotors,pads,callipers,brake flush, total parts and labor $900

does that sound right to you?

this is at midas
$290 labor
$491 parts
$50 shop supplies
$90 brake flush

I didn't do the job yet. I can't pay $900 for brakes!! ONLY REAR TOO!!!!

My car went insane. It didn't want to start right up the other day and the battery light was on and I was going to take it to check the battery when while I was driving the air bag light came on, the radio kicked off and wouldn't come back on, then all the lights came on to check oil, check engine, check gauges, check coolant, check brakes, then it was making a clicking noise like I had put on the turn signal but the drive marker was flashing. The milage thing was rolling with 8's. Then when I pulled it into my friend's driveway and tried to start it later it would not start at all. It's completely dead. We tried to jump the battery but it won't even turn over. It's a 98 Chevy Cavalier. Everyone is saying it sounds like the computer went out. Just wanted to know what others think. Thanks.

I just installed them today and they shake at 60 plus. Sticky weights are used...is there anything else I can do without returning them? This is a 2005 ford focus zx4...factory 15, I now have 16

I don't want to put on a better muffler, or one that makes more noise like what all the kids like today. My 1995 Ford wagon needs to get it replaced, and I would like to know if I can do it myself because I'm cheap.

Hi, Everyone! I don't know much about cars.
I drive a 1997 VW GTi VR6.
Somebody told me that the rear brake pads and rotors of my car have to be replaced.
I know I have to because they do make a squealing sound.
However, I would like to know if it is necessary to replace brake rotors as well.
What happens if I don't replace both of them. (I don't always drive. I just want to save some money :)

it barely passed....HC ppm limit is 65 and the reading was 65!
the guy at the shop said to start using a gas treatment called "BG 55K" My question is should I use this treatment or is this guy trying to make money off me? Also, more importantly, is it safe for the car? My friends dad told us never to use fuel injector that you pour with your gas, because it's actually bad for the car!

Brakes locked up this morning about 1/2 block after start up, felt like emergency brake was stuck on, then lost all brakes, they go to the floor like stepping on a plum, when car is off they can be pumped up but when ignition switch is turned they are to the floor again. No fluid missing or noticibly leaking from anywhere took off all wheels and inspected no visible probs, checked all fuses and relays I could find or think of, auto store said it sounds like a problem with the anti lock braking system? Not sure what to check or if I will be able to check or test any of this, do know that of the 4 parts they told me about for the system at the auto store the price was 650-1250 and that is not feasible or worth it. Can I disable the anti lock system? and drive without it? where shoule I look? Is any of this doable without taking it to a shop and having them put it on a machine? ANY help or advise would be appreciated GREATLY!!! Thank You in advance!

i want to convert it to a 90's EFI. swapping the engine and tranny is no problem but i'd like to find some info from people who have done similar conversions and any problems and solutions they encountered regarding the computer and the EFI

Ive had the blinkers fixed, the dash lights fixed, and the tail lights all fixed. they traced all the wires to find the problem.....so does it sound like i got ripped off?

So i took my car to the dealership to get repaired and I pick it up and it has a dint and a scratch on the back so I told the manager and they said they would fix it. I took it to their body shop today and they said it won't be ready until friday. wtf. Shouldn't i be a top priority considering they're the ones that damaged my car. So then I called the dealership and told them they had to give me a temp. car since Iwill be without a car until friday they said they didn't have anymore cars to lend and they were sorry. That's it shouldn't they have helped me more than that. This is unacceptable behavior isn't it?
