the whole point behind synthetic oil is to make the engine run cleaner..and in the long run make it less problematic When it gets a few more miles on it..I don't understand why people think they can go longer between oilchanges..It defeats the purpose and can cause more problems in both the warranty and the engine, especially since synthetic oil is usually more expensive then regular oil....lack of maintenance will void any warranty you have on a vehicle..

If you dont mind spending more on the oilchange go with the synthetic oil ,please change oil as often as you would with the regular oil...

That's a no brainer Chuck. Whether you put 6000 or 60000 miles a year use synthetic. Now if you were driving the Mazda RX series with the rotary engine you would have to use regular oil. Don't know why that is but to my knowledge that's the only car I know of that wont let you use synthetic oil and I would never by one for that reason alone.

Check the owner's manual and use what they recommend.

Regular oil is fine if you keep it clean and changed regularly. You can change your oil 3-4 times with regular for the price of 1 synthetic change,a nd synthetic will not last 3-4 times as long.

The cheap bastard should know that!

Synthetic is always better and you can drive longer on it without changing it as much.
