By pass the selanoid and go right to the starter with jumpers. If it starts it's an inexpensive part to change.

Try tapping on the starter with a hammer and try the key again. If it starts, then you will need a starter soon. Check the battery connections and ground wires to the starter from your battery. You may have a poor connection and the cable will heat up when you turn the key, but you may have a good enough of a connection to have the power accessories to work. Also check with a test light the power wire going to the starter. Usually a red cable. If the test lights with the key on, you are getting power to the starter so the starter is your culprit. If it doesnt light, then you may have a fusible link that has gone bad or cable.
Good Luck

You may have enough battery to run a few lights but the starter takes a lot of juice. I would have the battery load tested and I would check the starter too. It may be worn out.

another thing to check other than the battery ... if your ignition key has a little "pellet" resistor in the shaft of the key ... and it for some reason is no longer making proper contact in the ignition cylinder ... it would do nothing at all when you turn the key .. not even a sound. if your key has this pellet in it and you think it could be your concern ... send me a message i can instruct you on how to "get around" this security system.
