I have been driving fords a long time, the trouble could be a vacuum line, but I don't think it is the timing. How long has it been sense it had a real good tune up? It might just need new spark plugs and plug wires. Maybe a distributor cap and rotor button also. While you are at it replace air filter and fuel filter, I will almost bet that will solve your problem.
You can probably get the parts at advance, or auto zone for around $100.00 depending on where you liive. good luck

Like Mikey and frank f have stated. You did no longer get the entire tale. there is not any way the police or everybody however the owner of the vehicle is going to could pay for damages and prefer reported here is why. If spikes are used on a motor vehicle, it replace into maximum in all threat in a pursuit. this means that the driving force is breaking the regulation for no longer pulling over. (whether it replace into the incorrect motor vehicle) At this factor the driving force is going to be arrested and is committing against the regulation. The police use spike strips to stop the motor vehicle, and driving force is arrested. Any harm to the motor vehicle that's brought about is the accountability of the driving force or proprietor at this factor.

Have your timing belt changed or checked out, your problem might be also in the fuel injectors, they may be worn or clogged.
