OK....92 chevy Lumina Euro...V6 3.1 automatic...the guy at Auto Zone said it read a code 42, but for a Cadillac, not even my car, which he said was an 02 sensor. OH, I did drive it in reverse for a block, just to get it home. Thought you might want another laugh,haha

This is the question that I had posted before ~~~~I have a 94 chevy lumina that cuts out or stalls after warming up. We've changed the fule filter and used gas treatment too. Hey thanks for the advice on the previos question I went to a midas and I got my impala checked out they said there was a misfire in the number 5 solenoid and I explained how it was looseing power and lagging. They checked out my catalyic converter and said it is going out.My question is what could cause it to go out, I am not able to replace it til monday and will get a second opinion but I don't want to replace the catalyic convertor and have it go out again in a few months. what other components and sensors should I get checked out before I decide to replace the converotor what sensors could be going out and/or what parts might need to get looked at. Anyadvice will help I am going to go back to midas on monday to get it looked at again and I will need to know exactly what I need to get checked out. Thanks again you guys really helped with the last question I had.

I took my '98 Oldsmobile Cutlass to the mechanic today. He said that the "Output Shaft Bearing in the transmission is bad" and is causing other problems in the car. He couldn't give me an estimate on how much repairs would cost because he doesn't work on transmission problems. Can someone give me an idea of how much this is going to cost? At this point, I'm terrified because we've had this car LESS than a year and we've spent over $1000 on repairs (it's been in the shop 4 times). Someone please give me some hope!!! Also, he said that the "Center pivot in the wiper transmission system is broken"...any idea on how much that'll cost?! I'm a clueless woman when it comes to cars and I don't have a lot of money to invest either...any advice?

i just replaced the altinator twice and the battery twice and its still dying after running for maybe an hour. first the lights go dem and then the charge light comes on and then it dies and wont start until i get jumped and then it will run for like 5-10 min without dying again! what can it be??

My 97 Camaro was showing a P300 code(multi-misfire).I replaced plugs,wires,fuel filter and it still has a miss at low rpm's.Could it be the optispark now?Any other ideas before I blow more $ for nothing?It's a Z28,automatic trans.

Also I noticed that after I drive my car for awhile its like my car if I press on the gas it will still go but my engine revs up and winds up.And also my gear,gauge, P,R,N,d,D,1 if I'm in drive or another its never on the right one only the one before the one it should be on.Please only people who know what their talking about please respond. my 1998 dodge dakota 3.9 liter wants to turn over but its just not getting any gas i replaced the fuel pump relay and when i switch my truck to run i can hear the fuel pump winding up(shooting gas through the lines) and it shuts off after about 2 seconds like it is supposed to. i can start the truck if i hit th gas but as soon as i let off it dies. I also ran a obd II scanner and it came back no codes

Ive checked the vacuum on my engine. Its perfect. I would tell you what it was at but Ive been up for almost 30 hrs. I think it was around 18. That would mean that its a good engine?
