i used Amsoil 5w20, realized might be too thin of oil, added a very good additive still knocking any ideas

Dude, any knocking in the engine is bad. Keep driving with a knock, you will risk of having you valves damaged or even your pistons.

I'd change the oil and use a Ford recommended oil and change the filter as well.
You may have damaged something if this has been going on for a while, but if it goes away after a couple seconds then you should be ok.
Use a Ford recommend oil filter too.
This happening because oil is being allowed to return to the pan instead of remain in the oil system. And the oil pump has to re-pressurize the oil system on every startup.
