R134a Freon

X2. R134-a freon. R12 has been mostly discontinued due to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) There are still a FEW shops who dispense it, but must carry the proper certification papers. So most all cars produced before 1992 with Air conditioning have been retro fitted to R134a , and 1992 and after were manufactured for R134-a freon. IF there are any cars running with R12, the owners are paying a higher price.

It came with r-12 in it,,everyone knows that but you can covert it to 134a,,which is better and cheaper in the long run,,and you can purchase 134 at any wal mart or parts store,,and it cools just as good,as the old r-12 did,,it is just safer to use,,and easier on the environment,,if it escapes,,i hope this help,s,,i own a repair shop,,and do this all the time.

Cristiano is a freaking idiot!!! R-134a didn't come about until 1992 and wasn't mandated until 1994. So unless your vehicle has been retrofitted it will take R-12.
