Hail randomly swept through the city a few months ago and my car was hit really bad, i got stuck in my car and couldn't drive anywhere, but yeah I haven't had the money to repair it. I'm looking into that now, and i'm wondering what options there are in fixing all the dents in my car. Its not like 10-20 dents. Its like more like probably 60+ dents. Its a Mazda Protege LX '98, i dunno if it makes a difference on what kinda car i have. Any suggestions on the least expensive way to go about fixing her up?

A few weeks ago my truck started having troubles, it would click when I turned the key and sometimes start, lights work and dim slightly when ignition is turned. It has gotten worse so now I don't even try. I cleaned the battery cables and still same deal. Not sure if I should be checking starter/solenoid or maybe its just a weak battery? Its a 1983 GMC pickup so the starter is hard to get at. Hoping its battery related.

Was also overheating. Fixed the overheating issue by replacing fan motors, relays, and finding a short under the dash which had blown some large fuses also. Changed temp switch and fixed 3 vacuum leaks also.

Problem still is that the car is stalling when at idle. The car can be driven for about 10 minutes stopping & going before issue happens when coming to a stop (Will rev from 1000rpm to about 1500rpm and then die). Can be driven on the highway reliably and with good pickup until come to a stop/idle. Once the stall occurs, the car can be started only to stall again immediately. Must sit for few hours before can be driven again.

Doesn't appear to be the same engine that came with the vehicle.
One wiring harness coming off the block appears to have no home.

Seals near timing belt are leaking.

Thanks ahead of time for any help. I'm stuck.

When not started and sitting for more than 30 minutes, oil is at 40psi and engine starts with ease. After starting, runs at max psi, >60.
After shutting off, if oil psi not allowed to drop all the way back to it's resting psi of 40, the engine struggles before starting, like overcoming resistance.
Bought recently. Told it had head job recently. Can see new valve covers and seals, intake, oil pan, flywheel, master cylinder, alternator, wires and plugs.
Truck runs great, I can't find anything wrong with the truck inside or out aside from this.
Oil condition was good, but it had about 1 1/2 quarts over full. I changed oil and filter and filled to correct levels. Same issue.
I'm worried I'm going to blow my seals if the oil-pressure stays this high.
Any information or insight will be greatly appreciated.

i have a 1998 pontiac grand prix se with 3.1 v6 eng.i want to flush the radiator and coolant system. i'm using "gunk" brand super h.d. radiator cleaner part #C22-32, & following their mfg. guidelines and flushing proceedures.
i have gone underneath the vehicle, i have "drive on" ramps.i'm still not seeing the drain plug for the rediator coolant. do i need to remove the black air dam/rock shield to see it & access it? also: the owners book calls for gm "dex-cool" the extended life anti-freeze, can i mix that with water 50/50? or do i need to put only the straight dex-cool coolant back into the system once it's flushed?
thanks auto novice from texas.

If I had the transmission filter changed would that help w/ my 89 lincoln town car. It keeps taking a while for it to get into gear (drive). It will still go but the engine winds up and about 30 seconds it will kick into gear. What do I need to do to fix this. I've heard that if the trans filter is the original (and I think it is) then that might be the problem. Any advice will help. Thanx to all

ok deal is that i do not want to goto the shop and have it looked at and get ripped off.

1st symptom: i just got my car and the previous owner had had trouble with the car starting. the moter will start but the car will not turn over/catch. it would be tried several times and then would start. this only happen a few times for her. this has happened once for me. she thought she had it fixed. someone told her she had a loose cable or something and he tightener it and cleaned all the connection ont he battery. but when i got it it happened to me

2nd symptom: some times the car will have a delayed start. i will turn the key and the car will act like it is not about to start then it will all of a sudden start. or sometimes the start is kinda slow or just off. most of the time it seems alright.

3rd symptom: once i went to start the car and it had a delayed start and then i noticed the right head light blew or dimed. i am sure it just blew out but i am not sure.

ok i own 95 chev caprice Lt1 mech tells me #6 cylinder low or no compression. other cyl ok how can i fix this compression with out having the engine pull and rebuild. according to my old school books you would squirt a little oil in the cyl it would fix the problem
does that still work or is there any auto parts store that sells some type of oil cleaning or lubricating for the piston and cyl and rings. i dont have the money to buy a rebuilt engine what is the best solution for resolving the low compression. my engine shakes too. new plugs, wires, distributor, waterpump ,egr, alt,. pcv, already on it. I need to restore the compression in the #6 cylinger but i would like all my cylinders to stay working also does the valves get dirty how can they be clean just as well. internet sites state that the exhaust valves might need cleaning too. help

I have a Nissan Altima 1994, no AC. Recently, only the highest power on the air vents work. There are four strengths/power that the vents blow outside air into the car, and levels 1-3 no longer work, except the highest one. Is there a way I can fix this myself, without taking the car to the auto mechanic?

I am so hoping someone can help me!

1) why two batteries?
2) there is a knife switch to turn off the secondary battery, however, when turned off, truck doesn't run, is this the usual? explain?
3) Primary battery is good. Secondary battery is not holding a charge ... had it checked, was told they thought it might not be dead, could be electrical problem ... had electrical system diagnosed at a shop, they said it was fine. However, at time the power meter drops, and the lights, etc dim significantly when it does. Any ideas?
4) May be unrelated, but had to have starter replaced in July.

Thanks for any ideas.
