Hypertech or Superchips tuner. The best way, emissions legal, and only costs about $400.00 or so.

a good rule of thumb is to go outside in. What I mean by that is start with cold air intake and exhaust (outside) and work your way in. Start in this order..cold air intake, a good catback exhaust (dynomax, Borla, Flowmaster), exhaust headers, a computer tuner such as hypertech or supertuner, pulleys, bigger Mass air meter, and then work on the engine. If you have a 6 speed, get a better clutch and a shifter. If you have an automatic, get a slightly higher stall converter. Don't worry about rear gears right now. It will be hard enough to hook it on the line as it is.

don't just bolt on performance build the motor first then put the rest of that crap on then if you build it right you will need a tranny that will hold 500+ horse power and also a rear end and a drive shaft and put it all together and do it right not half assed and you'll have a machine you can be proud of
good luck

put a cold air intake system on it you should be able to pick one up at advance auto parts for under 150 bucks, and it adds around 45 H.P.
