I was going to by Brake pads for a Toyota but don't know what 5SFE means? I know it's the Engine but could anyone break this down for me?

its just a production code that manufacturers use to distinct between engine lines

Its the code for the 4 cylinder engine, found in the 92-96 celicas, 92-95 camrys and the 92-95 MR2's.

This won't have anything to do with the brakes, but here goes.

5S - Fifth version of the S-series engine block. All S-series motors have four cylinders.

F - Dual overhead cams tuned for fuel economy.

E - Electronic fuel injection.

It's the engine code. Like LS1 for camaro-corvette engines and 2JZ-GTE turbocharged toyota supra engines.
