Check the little switches in the door jams that operate the dome lights. They sometimes get loose and cause the lights to come on when the doors are closed.

I have a Chevy Astro & the interior lights are on a dial.
So you can turn them off or on or brighter or dimmer.
There is a point you can set it so they go on when you open the door
& stay on for a while after you close the doors. If it is set just a little off when you close the door it may jar the switch just enough to move it to the always on position. I hope this is of help to you

Maybe a short somewhere in the wiring.

Though I had a haunted car once. I bought it new, and it was haunted from the beginning. A Ford Festiva. People (lots of different people) heard men talking in the back seat. Like, men mumbling while playing poker. They didn't play with the lights though.

I would look a the wiring.

Not a lot of information here but bad door jamb switches can and often do cause the dome lights to act up at times or even a bad headlamp switch itself. Your probably gonna have to bite the bullet and have it checked out or get used to carrying jumper cables with you and hope someone is around to help you jump your battery.

what kind of truck 1st, and what year? if it is newer, some vehicles feature follow me home lighting which leave the lights on so you can see- but these are usually the headlights... if it is older, check your door contact switches. hold each door open and push the button in (will be somewhere on the door frame of the vehicle) also check and make sure your ignition cyl isnt half-****** to on, it may think your key/you are still in the vehicle. good luck

BOO! Chances are the door switch is bad. Could also be the dimmer switch part of the headlight switch... as night falls, it gets damp, moisture can do weird things with electrical components. If all else fails... call GHOSTBUSTERS

Turn the switch off, but wait for daylight. Ghosts are less active during sunlight. 0Oo0Oo0Oooh
