I have about a dime sized hole in the side of my engine just above the exhaust manifold and when the engine is running water is come out of it. My engine has also started overheating. Is that where my Freeze Plug Used to be? Single mom on an extremely tight budget. I have the tools and no money at all to pay someone else to fix it from what i have read its something I can do myself I am really handy.

i have a 2000 dodge neon. Yesterday i turned the engine off and took the keys with me. went back outside and the car will still running. After awhile it did start back up. went on another drive, came home and the car would not turn off..even with the key not in the ignition. Darn thing ran out of gas during the night. anyone know what th problem could be?

I have taken the car in for all its' scheduled maintanance like clockwork, and I use the recommended fuel. The dealer has actually gone over the car during my last two scheduled visits and cannot find anything that is causing the problem. The sound seems to be getting louder, and the car sometimes sounds as if it is going to stall. They have replaced the air filter and belts etc. They have put the car on the computer. The car has been taken out and driven by 2 of the mechanics. They have assured me the car is fine, but I just have this thought of having engine problems in the back of my mind. I have had really excellent luck with Subaru vehicles in the past, my last one had over 180,000 miles on it before I had to have any major repairs done. Can anyone give me any ideas what to do next. Would taking it in to a different Subaru dealer make any difference? I do know that engine noise tends to be louder in this model of vehicle. The noise is not affecting the performance. Thanks

Hi i have a austin metro and i had my alternater replaced around two months ago. but know i am having troubles and dont think my battery is charging correctly. i got a brand new battery this morning and all day it has been fine but i just noticed the indicators where not flashing as fast as they usually do and also the radio switch's on and off (like it done with the other battery which was not charging correctly). across a volt meter the battery standing reads 12.50 (ish) and then when i start the car the alternater is giving me around 11.50 volts. Is this because the alternater is knackered or is it something else. by the way i tested the ground and it is not broke and i cleaned the ground connectors up also. any help would be apprechiated regards
Mark

it says on it to use dexron. but I sucked some out with a tube and the liquid looks light brown, like brake fluid. are these mixable in the power steering? or should I just use dot 3 brake fluid.
thanks

your car is almost empty on gas, your driving around like crazy looking for a gas station, what is best, to drive slow to save up the most you can or drive fast to look for a gas station and reach it quicker? you loose more driving fast or its the same wether driving slow or going fast?
