I was told that TX does not use the same computer database as other states so I could get a license issued to me there. Anyone know any truth to that or have any suggestions?

I was driving on the freeway in California when I was rear-ended. This caused me to rear-end the car in front of me. (I was at a stop when this occurred). I wasn't sure if I was at fault for rear-ending the car in front of me or if the car behind me is at fault for both my car and the car in front of me? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My best friend was in a car accident a little over a week ago. He was driving to work early in the morning, slid on ice, and almost went off the road. A can came up from behind him, couldn't stop and hit him, pushing him into a ditch. The man got out of his car, apologized, said he tried to stop. The officer came along, asked if he had any injuries and if he thinks there is damage to the front of the car. He then called a wrecker, to have him pulled out of the ditch ($75). The officer determined that noone was at fault, the accident was due to bad weather.

We obtained a copy of the police report, and it states that he was in the ditch before the car rear ended him! The officer must have been going by what the other guy said, as he did not get asked his side.

The other guys insurance is now refusing to pay for the front end damage, only for the rear bumper. They gave a check for $200, when the lowest estimate he got was more than 700!

Does this sound right to anyone?

We bought the pick up after we married, but due to his bad credit, the bank would not put it in his name, only mine. We are seperated, but not divorced, and he is drinking a lot. If he wrecks and hurts someone, am I liable?

I thought it was just a minor scratch, but after i got home, I checked it and it was more than just a scratch. Anyway someone reported me and now I have received a letter from their insurance company to pay for the damages. I just wanted to know, will this be the end of it or can they take this further, i.e. DVLA, points on the licence, criminal offence etc...

I have liability insurance only. My insurance has a high pay out for people who are injured and etc. I think it's around $250 k. I am lending my car to my boyfriend who has his car in the shop. If he would happen to get into an accident (god forbid), how would the insurance work? Do you think my insurance would cover the damaged vehicle and the injured people even though I wasn't driving it?

i live in phila., pa, - last year i added my neice on my auto ins. as a driver of one of my cars (i have two) - she does not live with me at all - well, here we go: last oct. 06 she got into an auto accident - nov. 06 i just got tired of her disrespectful ways and told her she could no longer drive my car - so here is the problem, i have been trying to remove her from my policy since last nov. 06 and my ins. refuses. i sent all paperwork to show them i am the owner of the veh's. my ins. is very costly - today i called geico and asked could i remove her now and i was told because of the accident she had (fender bender and of course her fault) the other driver is claiming injuries and seeking therapy since then. i am so disappointed w/the ins. co. that i am paying for someone on my policy who is not driving my veh. or residing w/me - quest. is this right what the insurance co. is doing - please help i am paying 325.00 a month for 2 veh. (oh, so high cause my neice is 23)

The car was parked in an assigned lot where I live on a college campus. It was legally parked. My car was vandalized and therefore a cop was called. Apparently my insurance card was 7 days expired, and I just forgot to put in the new card. Unfortunely my permnant address was 1 hour away and so thus the new card was there too. The cop said he needed to impound my car unless i show him the new card. Can the cop impound my car even though there is no moving violation involved?
