In UK there are various monthly magazines as car price guides
(Parkers is one) and they will give an estimate of an insurance grouping 1 being the cheapest (or least expensive) You are an inexperienced driver so pop into a broker and ask them. You don't have to buy. I think you will be at least £600 for an insurance group 1

Go to Autotrader, find a car you'd potentially be interested in, and fill the forms out pretending you're planning to buy that car. It'll give a rough idea of the cost.

Choose a 1.1 car if you can, they're the cheapest to insure.

I would try Tesco car insurance you can look them up on the web they will need to take some details of you but they are cheap and good as my daughter has just passed and she is 18 years old and she is fully comp for £328.65 per year not bad as she is under 25. Just state you are shopping around for the best quote.

Phone a broker; you may not get the best quote but you'll get a mean average.
