i live in phila., pa, - last year i added my neice on my auto ins. as a driver of one of my cars (i have two) - she does not live with me at all - well, here we go: last oct. 06 she got into an auto accident - nov. 06 i just got tired of her disrespectful ways and told her she could no longer drive my car - so here is the problem, i have been trying to remove her from my policy since last nov. 06 and my ins. refuses. i sent all paperwork to show them i am the owner of the veh's. my ins. is very costly - today i called geico and asked could i remove her now and i was told because of the accident she had (fender bender and of course her fault) the other driver is claiming injuries and seeking therapy since then. i am so disappointed w/the ins. co. that i am paying for someone on my policy who is not driving my veh. or residing w/me - quest. is this right what the insurance co. is doing - please help i am paying 325.00 a month for 2 veh. (oh, so high cause my neice is 23)

Typically, insurance rates are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State.

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. Be sure to ask them if they write motorcycle insurance.

If your niece was covered at the time of the loss in 10/06 - you could have changed insurance carriers by now and she would STILL have had the coverage at the time of loss!

Get you a local agent and quit being taken advantage of by lizards and cavemen!

Good luck and I hope this helps!

You are getting nonsense answers. She was covered when she had the accident, so your insurance will cover that. You can remove her from your policy now, and list her as an excluded driver. If your agent won't help you, call the main office of whatever insurance you have and deal with them. You don't have to keep someone on your policy that is not driving your car and doesn't have permission to drive.

I live close to Philly. I live in Bucks County, but anyone yeah I think you have to wait till everything is work out with the other driver. Then you can take her off the policy. The other person said he is injured, so you have to keep her on till the guy said he is fine.

they will keep her on until the claim is closed out. after that you should be able to submit proof she does not live with you (rental agreement in her name, utility bill, etc) and they should remove her. if they still wont remove her, cancel your policy and find a new one.

they will probably require her to stay on the insurance until they reach a settlement with the other driver then you might be able to remove her... sorry
