hi, i got into an accident. and the police report says unit 1 and unit 2. who is usually at fault unit 1 orr 2. the cop said its the other persons fault. but she is saying to my insurance company that its my fault. the cop said it is her fault. anyways im unit 2 and she is unit 1. pls let me know who is at fault???

unit has nothing to do with whose fault it is....just states which car you are. If the police officer is your witness and says you are not at fault you have a better chance than she does....otherwise it will be your word against hers. Then the insurance companies make you both pay for each others cars out of your insurance.

I don't think your "unit" designation determines who is at fault. Additionally, the police report is only one element in determining who is at fault for insurance/lawsuit purposes. In most cases, the cop was not there to witness the accident and the report is basically hearsay.

You need to go back and talk to the officer who investigated. He is the only one who counts when it comes down to saying who is at fault.

ugh i dont know how you feal cause like i never ever been in a car accident and it's the companys fault
