I've had a Fiero for a few years, but not driving it currently. I inadvertantly put water polluted fuel in it.
I've taken care of that prob., however the clutch slave cylinder seems NOT to disengage the clutch enough to start the engine in 1st or reverse without 'moving' the car a bit. Also, gotta hold down the clutch pedal as far as possible to change gears. It's a 5 speed, 4 cyl.

I need a step-by-step guide on how to do this. I'm a female trying to fix it herself (If possible) to 1) save money & 2) to feel I'm not a completely useless, helpless female. Have tools, will learn!

I am rebuilding a Pont 400 with a 76 block and 67 "670" heads however the push rods are too long. Has anyone else had this problem? The pushrods are from the original 67 motor. (9.145") It now appears they need around a 8.9 " or something length.

I am restoring a 75 trans-am with a 400 pontiac engine. I went to bolt the Transmission to the bell housing and discovered the main gear shaft will not reach the pilot bushing. I am using A saginaw 4-speed, the bell housing has the double starter cone. What could Be My Problem?
face of bellhousing to pilot bushing 5 7/8"
face of transmition to end of main gear shaft 51/2
this leaves me about 5/8" short
I cant find any specs on the length of my maingear shaft
