Do you mean Trans Am or Z-28? Or do you mean Firebird or Camaro?

The Trans Am is the high performance Firebird from Pontiac.
The Z-28 is the high performance Camaro from Chevrolet.

When they first came out in the 60s they were differences in engines, and suspension. The newer one are much closer with the major differences in the trim.

What year are you asking about?

The camaro was to be the entry level car and the Trans am a step up. Now days they both have the same frame so do as you like with them.

I read an arcticle in Car Craft or something comparing the 2. the magazine went for the pontiacs because they're the same as the camaro but pontiac offered a few more niceties (like power seats in standard Firebird models at no extra cost/rear defroster yadda yadda) this is stuff Camaro always charged for! and dont forget that some Pontiac GTAs came with the same turbo 3.8 that was available in Buick GNs, GTAs! oof!

Trans AM most deffinately. the new ones have more power and look better. the old ones look better and have similar stats. Except for the pre '72 camaro. then id go with camaro.

camaros rock. my dad use to have one. a while back like a few years ago. when we bought it it was almost white. the original color was red. (my mom used it) then a garbage truck hit it on the passanger side when my mom was going to work. so we fixed it up good. it is now fire-engine red. really pretty. and black and red interior. really nice. t-tops and atamatic windows too.. my mom didn't drive it after that cause she had gotten another car to drive cause of that acident. we sold the camaro though. sad to see it go.. i think it was a third generation. and 1984 or 6 something like that it was built in the 80's so i am assuming it is the third generation.. the second generation looks like the transam or firebird

Well they are basically the same cars. Almost all the parts are interchangeable & they look a lot alike. They will have the same engines in them 2 (as long as it is the same gen.) It's basically what you want. I say the camaro, but that is just me. But in all reality there is no difference. Oh yeah & I wish that ppl would quit calling it a camero....

1978 Trans Am with T-Tops and the big Firebird. My Dad got one when I was 13, it was the best car I never had.

They are basically the same general motors automobile. Make sure you are comparing same motor/tranny/etc. I have had both and the suspension in Camaro's is stiffer so you don't get as smooth a ride.

Everybody and there brother had/has a camero- T/A 's are cool- I do not think any body ever based a movie on a camero- but I can think of several on the T/A- smokey and the bandit for one. Just my opinion.
