I've had a Fiero for a few years, but not driving it currently. I inadvertantly put water polluted fuel in it.
I've taken care of that prob., however the clutch slave cylinder seems NOT to disengage the clutch enough to start the engine in 1st or reverse without 'moving' the car a bit. Also, gotta hold down the clutch pedal as far as possible to change gears. It's a 5 speed, 4 cyl.

since it has been sitting for a while you need to bleed the master cylinder for the clutch,,also the slave cylinder too,,and you do this by gravity,,do not try to pump ,,it will burn the cylinder up,,gravity bleeding is always the best,,if after you do this,,it don't get any better,,you may have to replace both the master,,and the slave cylinder,s,,never just replace one of them,,the newer one will apply more pressure to the older one,,and cause it to blow,,as a rule,,always,s do both,,after this you should be OK with it,,it should start fine ,,and do OK,,hang on to this,,it,s sort of a collector,s item now,,there are a few of them here where i live,,enjoy it,,i hope this help,s.

Replace your master and slave clutch cylinders...the cylinders are cheap and you will have to replace them anyways. (check to see if the fiero has springs that guide the clutch pedal....if so replace them and it should feel like new)
