i need to get a 4 ga. wire from the battery to under the back seat for a audio system, I plan to do all the work myself, but the part that makes me most nervous is drilling through something unintentionally, is there a specific location on the firewall that is safe that would come out say near the right front speaker housing somewhere? specific dimensions would be the cats meow. I am not mechanically inclinded, but i know stereos.

I bot the Hyundai jeep directly from the manufacturers, the airconditioner collapsed within a year of purchase, the automatic transmission system collapsed, they are now asking me to bear the cost of repairs which is almost the cost of a brand new one

My heater and A/c control. only put out air in the 2nd and 4 position. and after a few moments on high regardless of what setting i have the discharge on.. it starts to only come out at the floor and at the def on the edges of the dash towards the side windows. NOT out of the main defost vent.. Any ideas of whats wrong and how to fix it?

Selling my 93' Nissan Altima and I've always like Cherokees. My friend is selling a 92' Cherokee (4D, automatic, 4WD) for $1000. The only thing wrong is the CV joints. He's a good friend and also the maintenance director at the hotel I work at (and he's very good with cars). So basically, I know he won't try to cheat me, it's just a matter of determining whether I should sell my 93' Nissan Altima GXE for this 92' Cherokee. I've always like the way they looked and people have told me they basically "last forever" (which people said about my Altima but I've had to replace 2 fuel injectors). But anyways, this Cherokee has 150,000 miles on it. Let me know your opinion on this deal. Thanks in advanced for the response!

Reference my last question, my jeep is a 97 4.0ltr with quadra-trac, it will only drive in 4x4 mode, either hi or low, when olaced in the 'N' on the 4x4 shift stick the car is immobile, will not move or attempt to move, it revs as though no gear has been selected even though the auto box is selected in drive.
I originally thought it was gearbox problem, then, after reading previous answers was pointed toward transfer case, whatever that is, one answer stated this model was permenant 4x4 and does not have two wheel drive as an option..............
Any help would be most appreciated,

Thinking of buying one soon.

MY JEEP IS AN AUTO, IT WILL ONLY DRIVE WHEN IN 4X4 MODE. When 2 wheel drive is selected the vehicle is stationary, almost as if its in neutral. What i would like to know is, is the standard cherokee 4.0 gearbox the same and will it fit.

I have the cutest Ford Focus. I have been seeing car window stickers on Jeeps that say "If you can read this roll me over". It is printed upside down. I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport that is missing the emblem on the glove compartment. Can anyone tell me which emblem it is? (Jeep, Cherokee, Sport or 4x4?) I have searched all over the net trying to find a picture, but I guess no one thinks that a picture of the glove box is of any importance. LoL

on my 1990 cherokee 4.0l the tranny seems to shift out of overdrive at low speeds like between 25 and 45 mph. i asume this is happing cause my tach. will jump in rpm from like maby 1200 to like 1600, it hapens when theres not realy a load on the drive chain, what i mean by this is like when i accelerate a little or go up a slight incline then the rpms go back down as if its returning into od. at 55 and above this does not happen. has anyone else ever had this hapen? thanks in advance.

I've recently replaced the plugs, air filter, oxygen sensor, idle speed control motor; prior to that I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. Might it be the Throttle Position Sensor or egr valve? Where is the egr valve on an 88?

1999 jeep GC V8 4wd is having transmission problems. I changed the transmission fluid (I used ATF+4) and after it started shifting hard into thid gear. I took it to a transmission shop and they want me to rebuild the transmission, does anyone know something about my problem? I am not sure what to do.....
