I have a year 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, infinity gold edition, and I am wondering if it is 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive, it says 4x4 on the side, and the shifter says " All time 4 wheel drive" on it, and you CANNOT take it out of 4 wheel drive, the only thing you can do is more to 4 wheel low, and I also know that the drive tires are the front right, and the back left, then the others kick in, it has Quad-trac II, whatever that is, so is this an all wheel drive vehicle, or a 4 wheel drive vehicle, I have heard the difference is that all wheel is both front wheels, then the back kick in during slip, or vise versa, and 4 wheel is front right and back left, then the others kick in, but im not sure.

They posted it in the paper and also announced some vehicles to be destroyed...one of which was a Jeep CJ-5.
I tried to claim the vehicle but no one wanted to talk about it.

Why destroy a Jeep if I wanted to make an effort to use it?

My engine light will come on and then my Jeep will start jumping in acceleration (seems like it is backfiring or stalling). It will do this a few times and then stop. Then when I'm stopped at a light, my RPMs will just go crazy and run at 2500+ and kind of jump around for no reason and while I'm in neutral. Once I put the clutch in to get into first, the RPMs will go back to normal. Any idea of what the problem is? It doesn't happen constantly but rather frequently. It comes and goes when it pleases....

I have a 95 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It has decided to randomly just shut off while I am driving. Everything will stay on except the engine.

Also, the temp gauge gets to about 260, it makes a squealing sound for a few seconds under the hood and then the temp goes down to just below 210.

Thanks

I have a hard top too so I know that helps, but I was just wondering if I should get some kind of stuff - like you do for tents & stuff that you want to weatherize & keep from dry rotting.

I have a 2000 TJ Wrangler 4.0. I recently had a wheel alignment recently done. I have been having problems with the steering alignment. While driving the wheel will become not centered. Today I drove around in the neighborhood making frequent right and left turns speed around 10 to 15 mph. While driving at this slow speed the steering returned to center. Seems to leave center at higher speed and faster turns. Any suggestions and advice is appreciated in advanced.

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee with keyless entry. It is not an after market keyless unit, it came with the Jeep when it was brand new. It locks and unlocks the doors, but I also want it to flash the lights so that I can see that it is locked. Is there an output on the OEM keyless entry unit to hook into the parking light wiring?

All the reviews I read about the commander make it sound like it's the worst 3rd row ever. And isn't usable by adults at all.

Is it really as bad as it sounds. I've looked at pictures and it doesnt seem THAT bad...

I am thinking about buying an 07 wrangler. I am not sure of the differences in performance between the manual and auto transmission. I plan to drive mainly on the road and do some offroading. However, I will not be climbing the Rubicon trail anytime soon. So, what are the off roading benefits of a manual transmission? And could an auto transmission provide the same relative performance? Or would I be crazy to offroad with an auto transmission?

IT'S NOT THE BREAKS I JUST CHANGED THEM MYSELF. First; I have a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - my baby! When I hit the breaks, I am hearing a small ping-like noise from the back cargo area. It sounds almost like a spring sound. Does anyone know what this could be and if not does anyone know of any really good online Jeep Grand Wagoneer forums or troubleshooting websites?
