All the reviews I read about the commander make it sound like it's the worst 3rd row ever. And isn't usable by adults at all.

Is it really as bad as it sounds. I've looked at pictures and it doesnt seem THAT bad...

Commander's third row would best be used by kids, I'd say. I've climbed back there and sat, and I'm an overweight 43 year old. There's space for your legs but the seat is so close to the floor that your knees are well bent. It definitely wouldn't be for tall people.

It is the worst. I am only 5 ft 9 in and about 170 lbs and can not sit in the final row of my brothers Commander. They are for younger children and car seats. We have a Ford Freestyle and there is more room behind the third row, more room to sit in the third row, and gets much better gas mileage. I have to say the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe is just as bad.
