Replace the coolant sensor. If you email me with your email address I can email you a copy out of my Haynes manual showing details of the location and how to replace it.

hi dude, you have become a great variety of conflicting recommendation, right this is mine, a foul coolant temperature sensor would desire to reason rotten gasoline intake, black smoke, and at last unfavourable acceleration after the plugs foul and the cat converter receives contaminated. The temp sensor sends temp.documents to the ECM which will tailor the gasoline transport and ignition curve. If no documents is transmitted/won the ecm will turn on your examine eng. lamp and enter a default mode with gasoline and ignition coarsely calibrated to get you to a storage, this is going to run poorly. thinking the quantity of maintenance required it possibly overpriced. To sum it up the temp. sensor would desire to be inflicting a smoking black exhaust and unfavourable driveability..solid success

If it is full of coolant then change the sensor, it probably is the sensor because it would say "Low Coolant" if it were low on coolant.

You may have a switch in your coolant reservoir that lets you know that your coolant is low. You may be low on coolant or this switch is bad. It could also be the switch that tells the computer how hot the engine is.
