This feels like the car behind me tapped my rear. Could this be a drive shaft issue? It doesn't happen every time I brake.

I have a 93 jeep grand cherokee laredo with tranny problems. In order to drive it I have to put at least two quarts of trans fluid a day. I was wondering where possibly is it leaking from because it leaks the most in reverse, but it also leaks in any gear. (How much estimating do you think it will cost me?) (6.0cyc,4.0ltengine)

I've heard both sides...either LOVE a Jeep or HATE a Jeep. I'm thinking of getting one, but I heard the 2000 and below models have tranny problems and also frame/body problems. Is this true?

What is the main argument about the problem with these Jeeps? How can I tell if I am about to purchase one of those problem Jeeps?

It's a 1999 Limited with 127,000 miles 4wd v8. Is there a VIN# range or something where I can tell if it is one of the bunk Jeeps?

Thanks!

I was out driving tonite and the air conditioner just stopped blowing cold. My car is still under warranty but the only problem is their service hours are monday through friday and hours that I am already at work. It happened to soon to make other arrangements. I will drop the car off to Jeep on Monday but in the meantime can i buy a recharge kit and add more freon or r134? (i think thats the numbers) I have someone that will do it for me, he is a mechanic who is a neighbor of mine, but he just told me to get the stuff. I am assuming and as is he that there is a leak since the car is not even a year old yet. Is this something that will work in the meantime?

I've replaced the radiator, the fan clutch, the thermostat, yes the electric fan comes on when it should, it does have the right amount of coolant in it, either the camshaft positioning sensor or the crankshaft positioning sensor whichever one is on top of the transmission has been replacedand also the main computer board thing has been replaced. Why does it keep getting hot? As long as im moving it's ok but as soon as i sit for awhile like at a stop light or drive thru the temp guage starts to climb way above 210 like 220-250. Any suggestions?

So my 1994 cherokee has been diagnosed with a Viscous Coupler that is going out on me. I know this is in my transfer case, but how serious is this problem? Do I replace the Viscous Coupler, or the whole transfer case? How mechanically inclined must I be to do this?

I have an '07 Wrangler 2 door and I would like to know what it would take to put 33's under it. How much of a lift would it require? I am also going from 16's to 17's. I am looking at some 17x9 wheels. I do not plan to go rock crawling, this is my everyday driver so I still need it to perform reasonably well on the highway. I am thinking about a 4" lift. How much will that lift and those tires affect my Jeeps ON-ROAD performance?

I have a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9L Limited. It has the fender mounted turn signals. The ones right in front of the front doors. The people I have talked to so far have only been able to come up with that this is an Austrailan/European package. Now my problem is I cannot for the life of me get the bulbs to replace these. I have talked to several people and parts stores only to find out there unavailable or whatever. Someone out there has got to know the part number as it is not on the bulb. The only numbers on the bulb are 12v23a which after 20 years in the industry I completely know what that means and it doesnt help at all. Thanks in advance..........Chris

I have tried everything that I can think of to get the screws out and I am making zero progress! It's only 2 of the screws that are stuck. I've tried drilling them out, I've tried an impactor drive, I've tried a few ideas that I've found online and nothing is working. Does anyone have any tips? They are the screws with the star heads on them and of course they are the two in the most difficult places to get to so I can't even find a nut splitter that will fit in there at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't figure out what the name is for those chrome accents on a Jeep. I'm pretty sure they're not an after-market item. I'm talking about those chrome accents on the door handles, the side of the car etc. Thank you!

I am thinking of buying a used one and it has 153k orig. miles with a rebuild engine-77k miles on that rebuild still under warranty for another 23k miles. It also has a rebuilt transmission. Looks clean on the outside. They are asking $2k. Can i justify cheaper? Are there other things that can be busted or old about the car that does not include the engine or transmission?
