I have an '07 Wrangler 2 door and I would like to know what it would take to put 33's under it. How much of a lift would it require? I am also going from 16's to 17's. I am looking at some 17x9 wheels. I do not plan to go rock crawling, this is my everyday driver so I still need it to perform reasonably well on the highway. I am thinking about a 4" lift. How much will that lift and those tires affect my Jeeps ON-ROAD performance?

I am doing this for the same reason I put extra chrome on my Harley, even though I never plan to put it in a bike show, because I want to. I like the way it looks better than just plain stock.

You don't need any lift to run 33's on a 07 Wrangler. 9" wheels maybe a little wide, make sure you run one the correct backspacing - 4.5" backspace on a 17" wheel should be about right.

Here is a 07 on 33's, no lift, 17x9 Mickey Thompson wheels

If you're going to go with a 4" lift you should probably go with 35" tires to fill the wheel well gap. If you're going to go with 33's I'd just swap in some nice riding shocks like Old Man Emu and leave the rest of the suspension alone - it will be fine for what you're planning to do.

The mods you're proposing will help with rock crawling, but they'll only hurt your mileage, and will make your jeep even more prone to tipping than it already it. If you're not doing this to go off-road, then why ARE you doing it? Just to make it look like you might go off-road? Save your money if you're not actually going to use it, and spend it on another toy - jetski, dirtbike, boat, etc.
