i got a chevy 350 and then it was bored out 30 over. the motor has been worked with performer rpm heads, big cam, intake and 650 holley carb. i drove the car for the first time today and noticed when i let off the gas pedal and downshifted to the stop sign it would smoke out the exhaust. it only does it when i let off the gas after the rpm comes down. do the rings and cyl. walls have yet to break in to stop this. will it go away? have you seen new motors or bored out ones do this for a little while? thanks.

i have a 98 mustang, and everytime i rev up the engine it burns out the fuel pump fuse, its the first slot to the left in the fuse box next to the batterie. i think it is the fuel pump fuse, im going by a diagram of a 99, the 98 diagram i keep looking at doesnt look like mine. what seems to be the problem, is the fuel pump giving out, or is there something wrong with the fuse box. its a 3.8 engine. see the thing is that if that fuse gives out, then for some reason it wont let it charge the batterie, and eventually the batterie dies out. it works fine and drives fine, the only thing is you cant pass the rpms above 2 or it will bust the fuse. i asked the question yesterday but i think lack of info, people where unable to help. thanx in advance

I don't know if its suppose to be like that but it opens when you push on the side. What if someone takes the cap off and puts something inside it that would cause the car to not function properly, is there anyway that I can fix this?

My mechanic is not sure of the problem, but I have been doing some research and want to know the cost incase this is the repair needed. There is an intermittent misfire in cylinder #1. I don't know the specific code, but it seems to be the same one every time I bring it in. He keeps saying he needs it to be misfiring at the very moment he checks it or he won't know what's wrong. I have taken it in over a dozen times and can't afford to go any more days without a car just for them not to fix it time and time again.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions (other than giving me a replacement price), I would greatly appreciate it. I feel I bought a lemon and it is very frustrating!

Oh well...thanks again!

Hello, one of the cars I use, Honda Accord LX 5th gen 4cyl automatic (140k miles) won't start for some reason. My friend was driving it home from a dentist appointment and a made a stop at Kohl's. After she came out she tried to start the car, but couldn't get it to work. Here's the details:

We take the key and put it in the ignition.
The key will not turn, even with pumping of the brakes.
Shift lock release works if that matters at all.

Please help and I can give any additional information that is needed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am buying a G35 this week and want to take my old subwoofers from my last car and put them in the G35, but my enclosures are too large for the G35. I was wondering if anyone had tried to install 2 12 inch Infiniti subwoofers, and if so, what enclosure(s) did you buy????

P.S. I've already been on www.crutchfield.com.

I had the pleasure of a ride in a friend's Bentley the other day which among numerous other extravagant refinements boasted a very fine set of unsoiled lambswool overrugs.

My question now is where can I get a set of lambswool overrugs for my second hand 2000 plate Mondeo LX. This equally noble vehicle also boasts extravagant refinements (but just of a rather different type).

I know everyone will agree the addition of some of those rugs would just add an extra thick layer of icing and a cherry to that particular cake.

I have been in the car business for ten years and am a manager at a new Honda dealership.

I sold my father an '88 Red Porsche 944 (not turbo, Lthr, PL, PB, stick, SR)) back in '98 for 6K. The car is in excellent condition (and I truly do mean excellent) and has only had about 2000 miles put on it since he bought it. It is inspected, and runs well. Everything works. The body looks perfect. the interior looks new. Even the rubber spoiler is still factory black (not faded).

I ran a Kelley and it is coming between 3500-4700 private party (he wants to sell it privately). It has 104K. The thing that is really throwing me off is that it was a reconstructed vehicle (but the best job I have ever seen - I would know it was an R unless I really checked the body during an appraisal.

Normally I would cut the value in half because of the R brand, but I am not sure what would happen on the private market.

How much do you think he can reasonably expect to sell it for?

I did take the advise from the answers that I received and did some tests. The problem is still the same, the wires that got burnt were to the 4-weel drive unit after fixing them the truck ran but very rough no throttle and missfired, then I started to adjust the timming and then it quit the is no power to the 30amp ignition fuse's, what would cause this and where do these fuses get their power from? I know that one of the fuses goes to the fuel pump and that has no power either .wow I hate electrical problems

Why is the MPG on Dodge trucks so bad compared to Chevy/Ford/Toyota? Would replacing the entire drive train on my 2001 QC with Chevy improve it? I get 10-11, my friends with comparable trucks by C/F/T are getting around 15-16. Sup?
