I don't know if its suppose to be like that but it opens when you push on the side. What if someone takes the cap off and puts something inside it that would cause the car to not function properly, is there anyway that I can fix this?

The gas door should lock when you lock the car, if this is not the case then visit our friendly BMW repair garage.

the odds that someone will do that is very unlikely, so i wouldnt worry about it

why dont you take it down to the BMW dealership...

HERES A HINT:

1. call ahead, talk to the mechanic that will be in charge when you take your car in... tell him you need an appointment and stress that it is to asses the costs.. not to repair it.
2. when you walk in tell the receptionist that you have an appointment, and once again stress that its just to asses costs relating to fixing the problem.
3. tell the mechanic that you might be willing to fix it with them, but money is an issue, so you would like them to give you a quote before, so you can decide if it works with your pocketbook.
4. they will probibly tell you there is a problem so that they can fix it, and make sure you know what that problem is... then take your car to another dealership and ask them to look for that problem or to fix it.

they try to screw money out of you so you have to play them too
