Hello,
I just bought a 97 honda civic LX and it has an after market radio installed but one of the speakers wasn't hooked up to the back of the sterio right so no sound come from it. I can fix that problem easily but I cannot seam to get the stock trim peice that goes around the stereo and the air condition vents and everything off. Is it just pressed in there or are their bolts that hole it in place? Because I cannot afford to replace anything so I cannot break it.

If you don't know what i talking about its the black trim peice that goes around the air vents, ac knobs and selectors, and the radio. Its the whole pannel that I wish to remove and it seams to be secured alot tighter than I thought and I really don't want to break it.

I think the better question is: Are car manufacturers making the sound systems too good to the point no one wants to upgrade?

ok, will your additional car stereo amp you install work with less power if you throw a 10 volt fuse in it vs. the 15 volt fuse thats supposed to go in it? Or should it just possibly not work at all? but it does come on and work.. I'm wondering if that effects how loud it can get. Also I own a 15" and a 12" sub, should I throw them both in the car? Could they sound cool, or would that sound awful? Is that why people always go with the 2- 12's or 2-15's, ect. thanks. I know I should just go get the correct fuse, but I'm wondering how it works... thanks

I have a set of led lights that go into my car and the wire isnt long enough. I opened them up to extend the wire and what i found was a red wire connecting to a switch and a green wire connecting to a diode. Is it safe to lenthen the wire? and how would i go about doing so? should i put to new wires in the place and connect the other ends to the red and green? or just sepperate another wire at the same place those are? neither the red and green are sheilded seperatly

I hooked everything up accordingly, hopefully. Can anybody tell me why it wouldn't turn off properly, or which wire would control the automatic amp turn off (e.g. radio ignition wire). Thanks!

So installed a pioneer premier head unite deh 880 i believe in my 98 ls integra almost a year ago. I also hooked um a jl w7 and 500/1 in it at the same time. it worked alright for the first couple of months. then my sub started shutting on and off every once in a while and kept getting worst till i didn't turn on anymore. So about two weeks ago i went to go behind it and check the wiring and everything seemed to be alright. so i put it back in and then my deck would no longer turn on as well as my clock doesn't work and my dashboard doesn't light up the seat belt and gas light and all those still work just the dash doesn't light up so i can't see the speedometer or tachometer at night. so i was wondering if anyone could help me with my problem and possibly tell me what i need to do to fix it

Installed my Phase Linear CD Player as instructed, and it still won't come on. My car is a 2000 Saturn SL2, and the wiring harness had been cut off. So I had to splice them together. Hooked everything up and turned car on, but nothing from CD Player. Seat belt chime did not sound either.

OK, I want to hang it on my dash. I do not like the bar like thing that comes with the radio, it looks so stupid. Well, I have used velcro and since it has started getting really hot, especially in my car w/ black interior, the glue on the back of the velcro melts and the receiver falls down. The reason I use velcro is because I the only place I have to hang it is in front of the cd player and so I have to remove it when I put a cd in. I have tried super glue, but when you put it on the glue that is already on the velcro, it does not stick. Please give me some advise.

Thanks!!

I got a phone call from my brother-in-law a few hours ago about a issue with his factory stereo on his 05 Honda CRV. He pulled the stereo to run antenna wires for a satellite radio unit which isn't a part of the factory system. I'm told that the re-install of the unit went well. And he entered the security code for the unit it it works, but only on radio. It also has a 6 disc in dash changer that doesn't work, he can't even switch to CD mode on the stereo.

Any clues I can pass along?

I have a Sony EXM 302 car stereo amp, it's also 2-channel bridge-able and says Mosfet on it. I can't figure out where to tell how powerful it is. I want to run it to a 15", probably on the mono to bridge it? anyone know? The 15" is 400max, best on 300watt says the Powerbase brand speaker.
