As Kea Zoo said, compare the r.m.s value, not the peak value...
The watt of amplifier doesn't matter, to get full potential, need moer powerful amps..
HOWEVER, it doesn't mean that every sub can afford high power input, try the sound, if it really sounds bad when LOW power amp is used, use the HIGH power one..
Because each speaker should have different range of power to drive them, few r sensitive..

Assuming they're 1000w max power, the RMS maybe something like 600watt RMS. So the amp will do the job, but you're working the amp quite hard. As above, best to get an amp designed to specifically run those subs.
Ignore Max power figures, it's the RMS that should be considered.

Do they get as loud as you need them to, using the current amplifier? If so, then you don't need to change a thing. The difference between 750 watts and 1000 watts to each sub isn't as great as you might think. You won't damage the subs by connecting them to a lower-powered amp, no matter what myths you hear.
I'm not familiar with the subwoofers, but make sure you're comparing the RMS power rating of the subs to the RMS rating of the amplifier. Ignore "peak" or "max" power ratings.

not bad. you are just seriously under powering them. it doesn't hit as hard as they could. now if you want some all out performance from them, make sure you get amps that are class D. these amps give the deep hard bass and loud base. brings out the best in a sub. they get upper there in cost but it is well worth it. just remember you dint have to buy a huge amp. i have two 250 watt MTX Road Thunder amps hooked to 2 12" subs with dual voice coil hooked up in one ohm mode. they aren't very big but the amps only run about 150$ a piece

Its not a bad thing you just aren't getting the full potential of the subs. If you can afford to scale up to a 2000W amp I would advise it. You might need a power cap to go with that but your local ICE dealer should be able to help with that.
