I hooked everything up accordingly, hopefully. Can anybody tell me why it wouldn't turn off properly, or which wire would control the automatic amp turn off (e.g. radio ignition wire). Thanks!

My amp didn't come with any instructions as I got it from one of my friends. He told me how to hook it up and I'm pretty sure I hooked at least one wire up wrong. As of now when I turn off my car, my amp won't turn off ever. It will always stay on.

Most newer amps have a built in sensor for audio signal, and wont turn on until they get it. Read owners manual, you may have not set the switches correctly. If need be, you can run a wire to the fuse box for key on signal to the remote wire. Ford doesn't have that as a function on their radios that year, so there is no remote wire output from the radio.

Your best option at this point is to hunt down all the wires that you hooked up to the amplifier and the rest of your stereo system. Now, more than likely, you connected to the "hot" or power line directly up to the battery without running it through the stereo power on/off switch first. Not a problem really as long as you're constantly running the car so to keep the battery charged. Unfortunately, this will eventually lead to the battery frying and needing replaced as car batteries are NOT a deep cycle charge like Ni-Cad's or Ni-MHy's are. Or like boat batteries for that matter too. So, start looking at your hot wires and see which one is hooked directly to the battery to the amp and re-route the wiring. Unless you LIKE having to pay about sixty bucks a month for a new battery that is!

you're saying the automobile cranks? then you fairly say it wont turn over? cranking is popping over ! and in case you have become a scraping noise then some difficulty would desire to be shifting. if this became into after the hump, cherck the cables on the battery and the earthing element they could be loose and thehump destroyed the touch. eliminate the cables from the batt and sparkling lugs/clamps. in case you are able to supply extra documents it ought to help music down the fault.

The remote wire on the amplifier needs to be an accesory wire/remote turn-on wire coming from the deck. This is more than likely your problem, if the remote turn-on on the amplifier is always seeing 12volts then it will always be on.

you need to check the fuse that you used for the remote primary wire, if you connected it to a consant live fuse than the amp will consantly draw power from the battery. a lot of times you have to try a couple of them before you get a good fuse.
