Hello,
I just bought a 97 honda civic LX and it has an after market radio installed but one of the speakers wasn't hooked up to the back of the sterio right so no sound come from it. I can fix that problem easily but I cannot seam to get the stock trim peice that goes around the stereo and the air condition vents and everything off. Is it just pressed in there or are their bolts that hole it in place? Because I cannot afford to replace anything so I cannot break it.

If you don't know what i talking about its the black trim peice that goes around the air vents, ac knobs and selectors, and the radio. Its the whole pannel that I wish to remove and it seams to be secured alot tighter than I thought and I really don't want to break it.

In a 97 Civic, it shouldn't be necessary to remove that entire trim piece. The factory radio was held in place with screws attached to the rear of the chassis; you get to them by removing the small panel underneath that (I think) includes your cigarette lighter outlet. The after-market unit would have been front mounted with a small trim piece; it should slide back out the front if you can get the correct release keys for it.

If it does become necessary to remove that entire trim panel, then first remove the plastic panel low down underneath, in front of the shifter. Then look up through that opening; you should be able to find the screws that hold the metal structure to which your large dash panel is mounted. If you really have to pull it out, the metal bracing has to come with it.

Since it's aftermarket deck, just use a flat screw driver to the black trim that holds the deck only in the middle only. Just make a little gap and use your other hand to pull from the holder under the deck forward.

There is no need to pull the whole center panel out for the deck. Just the deck and the extra holder thing directly under it if it has one. Some aftermarket don't include that holder for a cleaner look.

The trim ring doesn't just come off, the whole center console below the radio must come out. There may be a more simple solution as far as taking out just the radio from it's slot, if not...

there could be slots the two on the area, or the staggering, and backside of the pinnacle unit. usually the stereo producers use "keys" to pop the antitheft tabs. you need to use skinny screwdrivers. purely push the screw drivers into the slots, and pull the deck out.
