I really like the look and functionality of my stock radio, but want the knock of a pair of 10 inch JL's with amp. I know it's hard. But how difficult. I am gear head, but know little to nothing about the electronics of cars nevertheless car accessories

I have just bought a N reg Fiesta, in it was a Kenwood stereo and a Kenwood 6 CD system in the boot that links to the stereo in the dashboard. The stereo has broken but the CD system in the boot is ok.

The original eon 5000 stereo was removed leaving a huge space for a new stereo to fill. If I was to purchase a eon 5000 tape system that had CD compatibility would it be compatible with the CD unit. I've taken a look at the lead that goes into the existing Kenwood stereo and it seems to have about 15 pins on a round connector.

If not, does anyone know what kind of cable I'd need to covert it to the Ford connection?

I have a 1998 Mercury Mystique and i currently have a 620 watt amp that draws 20 amps. I would like to know if i can run a 1440 watt amp that draws 40 amps, if i use a 1.5 or 1.6 farad capacitor. I have absolutly nop problems with the 620 amp, not even dimming lights, so can someone tell me if it will work, or if i will new a alternator upgrade.

I have a 1986 Dodge Van that originally came with only an AM radio. Lucky me. I'm trying to replace it with an AM/FM radio from the same year. The problem I have is that it is missing a connector. Apparently, on normal (AM/FM) radios, there are two connectors, and on my AM radio there is only one. This is the only wiring I can see. Where can I find a resource on how to fix this? Or, do you have any advice? Polite answers only please.

since the dealer is gonna charge me about 1800$ for the nav,6disc changer, dvd player and satelite radio, and its not gonna be the best equipment for that money. i was thinking of getting the basic car no advanced radio system or anything other than sorround speaker system(comes default) and then add maybe pioneer system for nav and dvd satelite and its open limits from there. what do u all think

i just put in 4 new polk speakers in my 93 ford explorer... and i notice when i play my music all my sound (to a point) sounds good but when u hear it from the outside it sounds distorted. i dont kno if this is due to the door panel "shaking" or what... please help
