I've been hearing people using the speakers from say Peavey, that are 8-ohm 350w, 98db sensitivity, as a replacement for car audio subwoofers. The main reason for doing this it seems is the high ohm and sensitivity, and it seems to be much cheaper. I believe another statement was that you need to get an instrument power amp, instead of a car audio amplifier, so you can get the most power to the 8-ohms. If someone can enlighten me on how all this works out, I'd appreciate it greatly.
